What's Happening in February

January whizzed but but it was certainly eventful. Now we’re stuck into 2025, things are hotting up (the weather, not so much!). We are celebrating romance, fashion and art, all moments from us at The Mandeville Hotel.

Get your hair done
Newly opened in Marylebone, Larry King’s new Marylebone salon is a great spot to spruce up your hair. Not only has Larry King taken on a notable list fashion and celebrity clientele, he has some of the best staff to tend to your tresses. Their mission is to create more than just a space for haircuts – they envisioned “a social life for your hair.” Why not?

Go gaga over Valentine’s
While everyday should be about romance, February gives us an extra reason to pull out all stops. London is a treasure trove of romantic activities. And after a perfectly romantic day out, indulge in our specially curated Valentine’s menu with saffron infused scallops to lobster bisque, and only the finest desserts (1 dessert, 2 spoons?)

Enjoy half-term
If you’re living in London and looking for half term activities with the family, or travelling in, rest assured, London is definitely not short on options. Catch a show like Matilda or head to Covent Garden’s London Transport Museum. Take a walk up to Tottenham Court Road to catch the installations at Outernet or one of the fantastic evening shows. Perhaps spend some time at Southbank for their half term Imagine Children’s Festival? And don’t overlook the museums and the endless exhibitions you can catch from the Turner Prize at Tate Britain to VOGUE: INVENTING THE RUNWAY.

London Fashion Week
Fashion lovers will be preparing for the first London Fashion Week of the year, which will see some of the biggest names in fashion and design descend upon the capital. Between Thursday, February 20 and Monday, February 24, most events will be invite only but fashion enthusiasts can still join in on the buzz at other shows during the week.

Watch The Seagull
The legend that is Cate Blanchett will star as vain, insecure middle aged actress Arkadina in a new version of Chekhov’s early masterpiece by Ostermeier and Duncan Macmillan. Tom Burke will play her writer lover Trigorin, with Emma Corrin as the young actress Nina who becomes infatuated with him. With a stunning cast, this interpretation of the play is liable to be as much a talking point as anything Blanchett does, no matter how spectacular.

St Paul’s Cathedral Show
This February, St Paul’s cathedral is transformed via a stunning immersive light and sound show. ‘Luminous’ by art collective Luxmuralis is animating the interior of the building with illuminations and soundscapes inspired by its history, collections and archives. Previously, Luxmuralis has created shows at Westminster Abbey, Durham Cathedral and Oxford University. The company was also behind the ‘Poppy Fields’ display at the Tower of London in October.
