Oswaldo Olivia at Carousel

Despite only being open for less than a year, Carousel restaurant, in the heart of Marylebone on Blandford Street, has truly shaken up the Central London dining scene with their revolving line up of guest chef residencies known as ‘Carousel Presents..’.

This July sees one of the most exciting residencies so far, as Mexican Chef Oswaldo Oliva, takes over the kitchen for 2 weeks.

Carousel opened in August 2014 as a collaborative family project, from Chef Ollie Templeton, his brother Ed and his cousins Anna and Will. The 50-cover restaurant only serves one bespoke lunch and dinner menu (with one seating) for every guest chef, and, in between residencies, Ollie himself takes the helm in the kitchen.

While Carousel only take on brilliant chefs from around the world for their guest chef series, Oswaldo Oliva is one to catch. He has previously worked with Joan Roca at the three Michelin starred El Celler de Can Roca, with Andoni Aduriz at two Michelin starred Mugaritz, and is on the verge of opening his first restaurant in Mexico City. The menu promises to be imaginative and surprising, with dishes such as Morels and Nutmeg Royal and Nasturtium Pods with Pink Pepper and Peach, so we hope you’re up for a challenge!
