Best Mulled Wine in London
Christmas time, mistletoe and wine. And wine. And more wine (mulled wine, to be specific). We love the festive season because it gives us a chance to indulge in one of our favourite drinks of all time. But when there are so many bars in London offering this warming delicacy (and so many not, where’s the best place to start? Obviously, no one wants to wander the streets from bar to bar hunting for the hot stuff in this cold weather, so here are our top picks of the best mulled wine bars in the capital.
REFORM SOCIAL & GRILL
First up is our very own Reform Social & Grill, serving up the most delectably warming mulled wine this year in our relaxing, gentleman’s club-inspired bar. The perfect place to indulge and simply sip the winter blues away…and stay out of the rain! Indulge with some home-made minced pies and yule log and all your Christmas dreams will come true.
MONTAGUE SKI LODGE AT THE MONTAGUE ON THE GARDENS
First up is the under-the-radar Montague Ski Lodge. The mulled wine here is delicious, and it’s just one part of the incredible Christmas experience involved in visiting the Ski Lodge. Tucked away in the secluded decking area at the back of The Montague Hotel, you’ll find the exclusive Ski Lodge pop-up bar, which runs from mid-November until January each year. And you won’t believe how transformed the space has become for Christmas time this year. Find pine trees, falling snow, reindeer, snowmen, fairy lights and even piste maps waiting for you as you relax in this mock apres piste bar. There’s a wide selection of warming food, including cheese and chocolate fondues and of course our favourite drink, mulled wine. Snuggle up with one of the complimentary rugs and enjoy this Christmas hideaway right by the famous British Museum.

SHIP TAVERN, HOLBORN
The Ship is one of those places that simply oozes traditional festive spirit. This Dickensian tavern in Holborn is warm and cosy, filled with dark wood and plenty of creaking floorboards to make you feel like you’ve stepped back in time. The oh-so-British tavern was established in 1549, and since then has seen a long history of murders, hauntings and debauchery. Today, however, it is a friendly pub with a wide selection of cask ales and a mouth-watering mulled wine. Their recipe is steamy, aromatic, and very reasonably priced.
THE SHIP TOWER, 12 GATE ST, LONDON WC2A 3HP
THE OXO TOWER
An attraction in itself, the famous OXO Tower knows how to make a good mulled wine this festive season. Enjoy the sky-high views of the city and the beautiful Thames whilst sipping on their unique mulled wine cocktail concoctions, including ‘Naughty and Nice’, made with Sauvignon blanc, caramel liqueur, vodka, cinnamon and rose syrup. Delicious, devilish and wonderfully indulgent, this is one of our all-time favourite mulled wines.
OXO TOWER WHARF, BARGE HOUSE ST, LONDON SE1 9PH
Sing along to famous Christmas songs, bite into a mince pie or two and enjoy mulled wine prepared by some of London’s top bartenders in a very comfortable 1950’s American style living room. This Christmas pop-up opens on December 1st and closes serving red and white mulled wines as well as champagne and Santa Baby eggnog.
It closes on 23rd December so get your Christmas treats in time!
